New York City

Of course New York City is going to be on this list, and the list of things to do in December in New York can go on FOREVER. I did, however, make a short list of just a few things you can do in New York that will leave your experience etched into your memory for the rest of your life:

First we have the Tree Lighting Ceremony. One of the most popular attractions during the Christmas season in NYC. The Tree Lighting Ceremony is a tradition New Yorkers have been holding for eight decades. It features dazzling and festive lights and colors that truly embellish the meaning of Christmas. It can bring a warm joy to your heart from the crowds the Tree Gathering Ceremony bring together to celebrate.

Another popular attraction found in New York City during the Christmas Season is the Bank of America Winter Village at Bryant Park in Manhattan. While being one of the most fun to bring your family to, it also includes FREE ice-skating. The Winter Village found in Manhattan begins in October and ends in March, so you have plenty of time to plan and see this attraction!

And last but not least, the New Year's Eve Ball Drop. It is something you've probably already heard about, and is most likely the ball drop you watch every year on New Year's Eve. Imagine seeing that in person. The beautiful lights and hearing the harmony of thousands of people counting down together will give you a magical and unforgettable experience.

Colorado:

Colorado is and always will be a highly coveted holiday destination for thrill-seekers and even for the whole family for the insane amount of things to do in the state during this season!

Breckenridge, Colorado is quite the popular travel destination for travelers all around the country this time of year.
Breckenridge is mainly known for the hundreds of ski slopes you can find in the area, but it is also known for the festive events it holds for Christmas every year.
Every year Breckenridge has its own version of a town tree lighting ceremony as well as a "Race of the Santas" that features dozens of people dressed as Santa racing down the streets to get their cookies. It's quite fun for the family, especially your little ones!
Breckenridge is also known for the annual Holiday Dog Parade that features hundreds of little furry companions prancing up and down the streets strutting their stuff.
This is an absolutely adorable sight to see.

Another popular travel destination in Colorado is Keystone.
Keystone is mostly popular for the famous resort you can find in town, but there's more to do in town than just activities in the resort!
Although, if you do have an interest in skiing I would definitely recommend trying out their dozens of ski slopes for all ages!
They even have helpers for the ones who are new to skiing.
Keystone is packed with holiday events throughout the whole month of December and can keep you and your family busy all night!
The Kidtopia Holiday Spectacular is the perfect event for you and your family to visit to start your December off right! It features amazing holiday and festive activities that you and your whole family can participate in!

Are you someone who prefers sand over snow? Then Miami, Florida is the perfect place for you.

Miami, Florida keeps a very warm and lovely temperature in December reaching from between 76 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Aside from that, finding cheap places to stay in December in Miami is not difficult whatsoever. Since it's not considered peak season, the prices for everything dramatically drop. If you still like to celebrate Christmas but not in the cold, then no worries there!

Miami also features the 12 Days of Christmas and the Bayfront Holiday Village

Honorable Mention:

I found one particular place that looks like it's right out of a storybook. It's not located in the United States, but if you ever decide to travel out of country for the Christmas season I would definitely suggest this place because it is a real-life Christmas movie.

The Czech Republic is a small country located in Europe. Every year they bring their fairy-tale-like magic together and spread Christmas cheer all over town with their bright and colorful decorations and happy holiday music that can be found all around town.

The Christmas Tree in Old Town brings thousands of visitors together each year to celebrate together, as well as the Prague Christmas Market.

They also have their own Christmas traditions and superstitions that are guaranteed to catch your attention and bring back feelings of Christmas that you only had as a kid.

No matter where you decide to travel, make sure to hold your loved ones tight this Christmas season and spread the holiday cheer as much as possible.

Have a beautiful and blessed Christmas season!

xx, Han
